This group project set in the Trossachs gave me a great understanding of regional planning. From our research and field analysis we found that the communities were especially interested in reducing their carbon footprints, so we decided to attempt to create a carbon neutral strategy for the region.

 

Our project presented a broad survey of the region, identifying several aspects of potential development, whilst trying to build an overview that relates to the culture of the area. We designed a series of interrelated planning proposals that align with the mood of the locals. These proposals moved through the scales, providing solutions to the wider area, and then focusing down to specific elements within a single town.
 

This project showed me the huge number of ways in which you can save energy, and has encouraged me to think more about carbon neutrality in my designs and also in my own life.
